where to look for apartment furnishings?

Asked by row4food (3049points) March 4th, 2008

what are some good places to look for furniture, rugs, clocks, appliances? i’ve checked out target.com and overstock.com but they seem to have the same stuff and in large quantities that bore me to death to rifle through… i am looking for some more unique, not-too-expensive places.

And Goodwill isn’t too bad to find cool stuff if you can… I once bought one of those posture chairs (the ones you kneel on and rarely cheaper than 80$) for a dollar.

Craigslist, Pier One (if you are willing to trade away durability and price for trendiness).

Target is your best bet. Ikea has some trendy, cool stuff, but their quality can be iffy sometimes.
