New Canon Vixia HF S10, how many characters is there on the serial number and how to fix ImageMixer problem?

Asked by xTheDreamer (897points) February 27th, 2010

Hello, I just got my new camcorder a Canon Vixia HF S10.

Right now I’m trying to install the Image Mixer program but I’m having trouble with it because right now I’m installing disc 2 but it asks for the camcorder’s serial number and I found it and I’ve entered it but it says that the serial number is incorrect.

So how many numbers/codes/character is there on the Canon camcorder’s serial number?

And why is it telling me that my serial number is incorrect while I’ve entered it 5 times the way it is and I have tried different ways to enter the serial number but it doesn’t go.

Where else can I find the camcorder’s serial number?

You might be entering it incorrectly. Does it have dashes or spaces between numbers that you entering or not entering?

I am having the same issues with my serial number. I removed the battery pack and the serial number is in the following format. Four numbers on three lines totalling 12 numbers and on the forth line are two letters. I have tried entering only the 12 numbers, with spaces between the four numbers, without spaces. Then I tried including the letters, also had a variation of leaving a space between the four numbers and not leaving any space and keep getting. The serial number you entered is incorrect. Check and enter again. Please help.
