Editing songs on IPod Touch?

Asked by Sandydog (1265points) March 4th, 2010 from iPhone

I wanted to delete some songs on my IPod Touch and not my library. Message came up on ITunes that it would delete songs from the Touch but they would remain in my library.
After deleting they were gone from my library as well as my Touch !! What went wrong ?
