How is sound made in the human's throat?

What Brownlemur said, and it makes a vibration. If you talk, you can hear the vibration in your throat and chest.

Which is why, in Zombie movies, I never believe they are really moaning, because they’re not breathing. Thus, no air is passing the vocal cords.
