Should I take IB or Cookery?

Asked by nailpolishfanatic (6637points) March 20th, 2010

Yesterday I went to the college MH, I thought it was nice and one of my friends from my old school is going there after 10th grade. I am maybe moving to Denmark so I need to take my courses in English because there they don’t teach Icelandic. Anyway last Tuesday was an open day in the cookery school for people who want to visit and see how the school is. I didn’t go because there was prom at my school. So i didnt have the chance to see inside the school. What should I do????

Um, IB as in International Baccalaureate? I did that. It’s pretty good. Quite demanding.

@bob_ , Yes International Baccalaurete. I think so too…but I am not that good in English. My mom has been telling me, she is pretty good in English so I get all the help I need from her and we are maybe going too Denmark because she’s in the University Of Iceland, she applied in Denmark and they accepted her so were are going. Mom was thinking of putting me in come extra English classes because my vocabulay is bad:(

@Thesexier You should take all the classes you can. They can only help. However, I’d say that a less-than-perfect English would be the smaller challenge.

@bob_ i don’t understand:(less-than-perfect ENglish would be the smaller challenge.

@Thesexier The IB program is very demanding, even if your English (or the language of instruction) is perfect.

@bob_ but what should I do?

nailpolishfanatic's avatar

@ilvorangeiceblocks , thank you ;D One more thing. The school where they teach IB, when I went to see the school I saw some of the kids from my old school who were very mean to me and were racists.:( So I am kin dof scared of going in that school because ½ of my old school is going to the same college. :( HELP ME!!!

I vote for IB, too. When are you moving to Denmark, and where will you be living?

My mom goes in the end of June or something for 6 weeks. Then me and daddy go and visit her for 4 weeks (me) 2 weeks daddy. And then if she passes teh course they accept her again to go for one year..Kopenhagen.

Racism sucks. :(

For what it’s worth, your written English here looks quite good to me. I wouldn’t have guessed it wasn’t your first language unless you said something. That said, written and spoken are different territories, as I’m sure you know.

Thank you very much @elenuial , I think I’ll go and do IB , and ignore haters!
