My guess is about 14,177, but I’m not sure.

Fluther is an offshoot of the matrix. Everyone is a jelly… not everyone knows they are.

There’s exactly 54 operators in 14 offices across the globe, managing 14,143 identities. We’re with The Government.

@PandoraBoxx is lying to you. There are only 3 true flutherites managing all the identities you see. They have an elaborate roleplaying game set up with more rules than the uniform commercial code, and it’s all generated by a roll of the dice and a self-referencing computer program that randomly selects snippets from current events and fluther events. In essence, it is artificial intelligence.

You heard it here first, folks! ;-)

@wundayatta And I thought there was only you!

wundayatta's avatar

@janbb How many times do I have to tell you? I don’t like fighting with myself. But if you must know (if you haven’t just blocked it out), I get tired of playing all by myself in the sandbox, so I invited two friends to play. But the toys are still mine, and if you don’t play nice, I’m gonna go home and take my toys with me!

janbb's avatar

@wundayatta Dang – guess I gotta go since I can’t play nice.

Jeruba's avatar

I’m not here. Somebody else is posing as me.

wundayatta's avatar

@Jeruba Not me. You’re not my fault. Uh-uh. No way! ;-)

AstroChuck's avatar

Just one really, really big one.

Jeruba's avatar

Don’t be silly, @Dalo @wundayatta. I’m posing as you.

Hey, I know! Let’s all pose as AstroChuck!

AstroChuck's avatar

@Jeruba- Eh. It’s been done before.

Currently, we have 33,904 registered members. Give or take.

Brian1946's avatar

@ben

Thank you.

Is that administratively restricted data?

Jeruba's avatar

@ben, any data on how many of those haven’t been seen since the day they joined?

I randomly put some three-letter combination into the search the other day—I think it was ‘eng’—and had dozens of usernames come up that had fewer than 10 points and a last activity date that was the same as date joined. It would be interesting to know how many members we have after you deduct those.

Just tried that again with another random threesome—‘cul’—and saw two usernames with 2 points and 5 points, respectively, dating from 2006 and 2007, so old that they don’t even have a recorded last visit.

There are exactly 56 active jellies

I made that number up.

bob_'s avatar

@Violet: Amazing but true fact! 23% of all statistics? Made up.

Violet's avatar

@bob_ I thought it was closer to 70%...

bob_'s avatar

—@Violet Lies, I tell you! Lies!

wundayatta's avatar

No, I’m with @Violet on this one, and since I made you up, @bob_, I win!

This site may give you a better idea of how many regulars vs. one-timers there are. Disclaimer: I have not looked too deeply into this, so I can’t be sure!
