Can worms hear?

Asked by CloudXDream (71points) March 24th, 2010

I know that this may be a very strange question that I am asking but I have been pondering it for a while now.

No,That’s why you don’t see many worms wearing iPods (except to look trendy!)
They actually feel vibrations!! It is useful to let them know when an animal is digging to have them for lunch !

Vibrations of sound, in a way could be hearing.

I thought I was reading about “earworms” today?

truecomedian's avatar

I bet if you put some worms in a room hooked up with a titanium horn inducer you’d get a reaction out of them.

God that must be a terrible existence. A worm.

“Nuchal organ”? Sounds kinky!

susanc's avatar

Guys! Be serious! This is important!!!

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

Just look for the one’s wearing glasses. If they didn’t have ears the glasses would slide right off.

Devilishtreat's avatar

I don’t think they can hear. They can read though.

janbb's avatar

@Devilishtreat That would only be the bookworms – not the earworms.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

Well, what do meal worms do?

janbb's avatar

And I guess tape worms put up sheet rock!

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

Then there are always blood worms, but I don’t want to go there.

janbb's avatar

really don’t

Devilishtreat's avatar

Ohhh blood worms! Yes, they have fangs.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

Lot’s of things have fangs, and they’ll get you if you’re not careful or wearing protection.

Devilishtreat's avatar

Like a turtle neck?

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

A turtle neck? :) Like that would slow you down.

Devilishtreat's avatar

If I’m being slow at it, that means I’m enjoying it too much.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

Would it be bad if I said I’d enjoy you going at it slow too. Sometimes those things are best if savored.

Devilishtreat's avatar

Nah. You might have worms…

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

My worms might be the least of your problems. (Why are we not getting modded on this one?)
