Can you recommend me the best web hosting company you know?

Asked by Ranimi23 (1917points) March 31st, 2010

I’m looking for the best company with the best service and price. I’m thinking about a Dedicated Server because I need to host more than one domain and web sites so it’s probably better solution to have all of them on ONE server I can control. What do you think?

Will be happy to here your recommendations.

I use Go Daddy for my website because it’s cheap.

Godaddy works for me, also for the price. Adding/changing features through their web site always works quickly.

Haven’t needed much service, except when things are expiring they actually phone me, and the guy helped me pick out a better service/payment combo.

Downsides – no toll-free customer service number and navigating all the settings/features screens isn’t easy.

Laughing Squid Web Hosting (laughingsquid.net) is imho the best, much better quality than GoDaddy, but without the high price tag you find at places like Media Temple (mediatemple.net).

@lucillelucillelucille , @jaytkay 10x for your help.
I know GoDaddy and did use them for one year. The problem is that they were very slow.
They SQL Server support is for a very small MB only, can’t had MB if I need too.

I have more than one domain, so for every one I need to open a new account.

I heard about HostGator windows dedicated server, but it’s very expensive for my company right now :-/

With one Godaddy account, I have seven domains

@jaytkay , Do you have SQL Server 2008 included?

@Ranimi23
My Godaddy hosting account includes SQL Server 2000, but it’s an old account.

I do not know which version a new account might have.

@jaytkay 10x, I will check. As I remember, there is a 20MB limit, can’t add more MB when I need.

Did anyone use discountasp.net?

@Ranimi23

It looks like new Godaddy SQL databases are SQL Server 2005
http://blog.godaddyhosting.com/2007/06/06/mssql-2005.aspx

Databases are limited to 200MB
Depending on your plan, you can have 1, 2 or unlimited databases.
