How would you make your perfect ice cream sundae and what would you put in it?

Asked by niks1112 (410points) April 13th, 2010

For my effective speaking class, I need to write a speech on how to make the perfect ice cream sundae, but there is no perfect way, because people like different topping, or flavored ice cream, therefore i wanted to know If you were able to build your most perfect sundae, what would it have? ( i just need some feedback, so that i can generalize and not make it seem like there is only one way)
what do you flutherers like on your sundae?

Vanilla frozen yogurt, caramel, and pecans. That’s it. :)

Chopped peanuts, chocolate syrup, and vanilla bean ice cream.

Banana Split
The banana gives a whole ‘nother texture & taste.

hmmmm i would have to say one of my favorites is the messy sundae from sammy’s pizza! In a huge what seems to be a wine glass, dripping chocolate and caramel from the sides. but if i had to make one amazing sundae it would probably start with a brownie, add chocolate and vanilla ice cream on top. Follow by chopped up strawberries, chocolate and caramel sauce, whip cream for sure, and of course the cherry on top. sprinkled with crushed up oreos!

vanilla ice cream + Ben & Jerry’s hot fudge + chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups = heaven

Coffee ice cream, almonds, chocolate chunk semi-sweet pieces, hot fudge topping and a little bit of caramel topping, three cherries on top. I might add a banana.

Toasted almond ice cream, hot fudge, amaretto whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles, and a drizzle of grenadine – but skip the cherry itself. Love the taste of maraschino cherries, but I can’t stand the texture!

@mcbealer‘s sundae comes a close second for me – but I’d add a little amaretto whipped cream there too it’s a little bit addictive, that stuff…

If you want generalizations, rather than specifics, I’d say you have to make sure you have all the toppings ready to go before you start, and the ice cream nice and hard-frozen – that way, the hot fudge won’t melt the whole thing before you’re done making it. It’s much better when you get the very cold ice cream and very hot fudge on the same spoon, and they melt together in your mouth!

Also, don’t go overboard with the hot fudge – you want enough that you can get a bit of fudge with every bite of ice cream, but not so much that the ice cream drowns in a sea of fudge…

Can you tell I spend a lot of time thinking about ice cream?

Start with the traditional tulip-shaped sundae glass. Start with about ½ oz hot fudge in the bottom of the glass; add two scoops of natural vanilla ice cream; top with more hot fudge, more whipped cream, crushed peanuts and the maraschino cherry.

No whip cream or cherry. Just Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Hot Fudge syrup, on the side, and nuts, on the side.

as soon as I get off work, I’m heading straight to the grocery store to pick up some sundae supplies ;)

I hate whip cream. Or, is it whipped cream?

Ever tried frying a banana before adding it to the icecream? This is my favorite.
