There’s an event going on and I want to know how long it’ll be. About how many hours usually is an air show?

It depends. If it is a big one they can have events throughout the entire day. Some people only go to see the latest and greatest team shows, other go to see the WWII war birds. There should be a published schedule online somewhere.
Whether you are interested in planes or not bring your camera with extra batteries. There are many interesting things to see and more photo ops than you can imagine.
Eat, drink, and enjoy.

You don’t have to spend the entire day there. You should see the the F-15 and otheres from 12:30 until 2:00 minimum. Those are awesome.
Bring a blanket, sunscreen and a book if you don’t want to walk around all day.
Make sure to pick up the free goodies.

The last air show I attended was at Luke Air Force Base in 2009 and it ran about 9 hours if I remember correctly. They had about a dozen aerial displays lasting several hours culminating with the USAF Thunderbirds wrapping up the day’s events.

The predominant factor is most likely going to be how they have the aerial demonstrations planned out in the program and how many of them will occur during the course of the show.

Well my bf is in the army and some other soldiers are working there for some reason lol. Just wondering how long it would probably be. Also, I was curious about the Air Show cuz I never been to one.

The ones I go to (in the UK) usually open around 9am and the displays finish around 5pm, usually with the best show at or near the end. It then takes another 2 hours to get your car off the airfield… :/

Some run for two days, a full 8 to 10 hours the first day, and 6 to 8 hours the second day.

The air shows I’ve always been to are full day events. The amount of time the guys working them have to stay depend on what they are doing. Some work only half days while others are there for the whole show, it just depends on what role they are playing during the air show.
Typically the air shows have lots of planes on display with someone there telling you all about the planes. Some planes you can go inside and see what they look like, but others you can’t. There are also usually different “shows” of planes flying around, doing stunts, and just giving you a slight idea of what they are capable of. There are a lot of information tents about anything and everything, food, fun stuff for kids, and always recruiters. :)
