Urban Terror is pretty good for a Quake III mod, but you might have to compile it for it to run on a mac.

It’s based off of one of the Quake engines, but they optimized it for speed rather than for super-realistic rendering. Coming from playing Quake4 on a pretty suped up CAD station to playing Nexuiz on my macbook… it’s hot.
