What is the difference between egg bread and basic bread?

My breadmaker bread book has both recipes and I wanted to try out the egg bread because I have excess of eggs at the moment that need using up.

So what is the difference between the two? Is egg bread good for sandwiches?

/edit I do not mean eggy bread, but bread that has egg in the dough.
