Gaudy art?

Unattractive, gaudy, those eyes are going to follow me kind of art?
I picked up these two prints at an antique store. They were five bucks (in an oogly frame). Do you think that they’re oogly? My girlfriend says that I’m not allowed to store them at her place while I’m waiting to move, haha.
She thinks that the lady wants to kick her man’s ass and will show up at the end of my girlfriend’s bed one night, haha…

I personally wouldnt have them up in my house, but art is personal everyone sees things differently. I definately understand what your girlfriend means though. They look like they kind of paintings you would find around Hogwarts in huge frames except the people in them would move!

Only, and i say this wod loosely, only would i hang these pictures in a Spanish bar. nothing against the Spanish, but in a bar, drunks would not object to these pictures, since alcohol sometimes dulls their senses.
Your girlfriend is correct. rent a storage space and store them there…....out of sight!
Sure it’s gaudy but that’s the thing. If this was in some household in Spain, let’s say together with all kinds of other things of the same nature, it’d look gaudy. In your apartment, it’ll just be cool.
…. I totally disagree. I think they are unique, which makes them more appealing. The frame is pretty awful, but the art is interesting and different. I like them.

Unsophisticated^^^. These are wonderful. There aren’t very many of these left (there used to be lots). Probably from the 50’s. The red frame is excellent. You ought to get a faux-scuffed-up second one made for the lady so you can have a pair. You should be proud of having the cojones to enjoy what is attractive even though it’s not chic at the moment.
I say, get some new frames, and keep them! I like the pictures. Not everything in life needs to be Better Homes and Gardens approved, people.
Not my style or taste. Too much like the covers of bodice ripper novels for me. But you get to decide what you love and what gives you visual pleasure. No right or wrong here.
They are pretty cool for 5 bones!!! I think, with the proper setting, they could look pretty rad.

I don’t think they’re gaudy but more campy. Reminds me of stuff from the 70’s I’d see in the bathrooms of the “Alculpuco” restaurants back home.
I kinda like them. As previously stated, new frames would do wonders for them.

They look fine to me – I would definitely find new frames, but the pics are not exactly gaudy – more like depends on your taste.
The pictures are not so much gaudy as they are common. They don’t thrill me but if they give you some pleasure, then enjoy them.

I’ve decided against the prints (anyone want them :)).
Instead, this nude is going up, once that I get her framed.

The nude is more artistic and thought provoking. She looks very pensive.
I like the woman…she has a bit of classic beauty. I dont really take to the man. He seems to distant. I would hang the woman in my bedroom though.
