Why doesn't the facebook chat work?

The chat on my facebook account doesn’t work when I open it a box apears ,but with no names .so please tell me how to make the chat work normaly and why doesn’t it work.

hmmm. mine is working now, on a PC btw your just going to have to wait because its really on part of facebook, try restarting your browser or even ur entire PC, and delete your facebook cookies.

It’s kind of a crappily written little subroutine. I try to avoid it. It crashes browsers all the time.
