What browser are you using? If its not firefox or chrome try downloading and using one of those ( you should be anyways ). If it IS one of those, reinstall.

Will help you further but you really need to be more specific.

Try erasing your cache.

Doesnt sound like a windows problem at all. More like a browser issue. If you’re for some reason using IE please, do your self a ginormous favor and cease all useage now. Like InspecterJones said, get chrome or firefox.

Make that three votes for a browser issue as opposed to a Windows issue.

If you are using IE then make that 1,000,003 votes for a browser issue.

IDK what everyone has against IE, never had a single problem here. If the clicking problem doesn’t just happen
on your browser, and you have a wireless mouse replace the battery. It always does that when it is close to dying for me.

@XOIIO IE is by far the worst browser in human history, that’s all.

have you ever used any other browsers? I hear a lot of people say that before they use firefox, and then they quickly realize how big a piece of junk IE was.

@XOIIO Let us set aside the stability issues, slow speed though IE is no longer 10–20 times slower on Javascript, lack of features, and lack of customization, The biggest problem with IE is the security holes.
And being a magnet for malware of all sorts can cause all sorts of unintended side effects, like deactivating trackpads on startup.

yes, it is Internet Explorer that I am using. So, with the 1,000,003 votes that it is the browser, does anyone know how I can fix it? (besides getting firefox or chrome, even though its unanimous that I should switch)

InspecterJones's avatar

@calipalagigirl There is no fix, just stop using it. If you want a fix, reinstall windows. The problem isnt that people don’t wanna help, it’s that anyone that is capable of helping doesn’t use IE and has therefor never encountered your problem. There is 0 reason to avoid switching to something that actually works. Just do it, now.

Chrome

Firefox

@InspecterJones Actually, there_is_ a fix. It involves a trip to Redmond, WA and knocking a few heads together. Keep knocking heads until they come out with a decent, stable, secure browser.

To Macroshaft’s credit, IE8 is a massive improvement over older versions. In other words, it is now where Firefox was a few years ago.

@jerv Yea but it doesn’t matter, so long as its the browser of choice for 90% of the users in the net then it will be the target for malicious activity. Same way macs are “virus safe”, they really aren’t, its just that nobody just gives a shit to make a mac virus cause macs only make up like 2% of the computers in the world. Firefox isn’t perfect and neither is chrome, the reason they’re safe is because nobody targets them. That aside though, they are years ahead in features and security, literally.

@InspecterJones There are other reasons (at least since OS X) but that is another discussion for another time/place. Suffice it to say that OS X shares the inherent robustness of Linux, but lacks the added security that allowing millions of “white-hats” to patch stuff brings. Find an exploit in Linux and 37people will patch it within the hour. Find one in OS X and Apple will come out with a patch next month.

@jerv @InspecterJones thank you very much for your help! Since I dont see myself in washington anytime soon, I think i will research firefox and chrome and go from there. Thanks again!

microsoft develops many products and therefore they are all are sub-par quality. mozilla develops very few products therefore they are all very high quality.
