What do you use lemon basil for?

Asked by lilikoi (10105points) May 26th, 2010

I use sweet basil and Thai basil for Italian dishes and stir frys. What is lemon basil good for? Are there any particular dishes where it makes a big difference or really stands out?

I’m most familiar with people using lemon basil for grilled chicken. However, and yes this is from google (but it looks so good!), there’s this: Zucchini and Mushroom Pasta with Lemon Basil

It’s wonderful in any dish where you need to cut the sweetness down a notch. Great with Italian fish dishes, makes an interesting ice cream too.

They’re also good with any creamy curry dish, to flavor a vinaigrette, or just about any dish you make that calls for basil.
