Best place to buy a workstation for 3D work+gaming?

Asked by windex (2932points) June 8th, 2010

My graphics card is turning 3 this year and it’s getting pwned by 3d Apps + new games.

A bit of history:
I used to put my own pc together, now I just prefer to pay someone a couple of bills extra to do all the research and make sure everything is compatible and put it together.
I bought my first pc (that I didn’t build myself) from cyberpowerpc and then another one from them 2–3 years ago.

Pretty good site. Now I want to concentrate more on 3D graphics instead of gaming (I survived w/out video games for 6 months this year FYI)

Does any recommend a good Workstation + gaming rig?

I’m currently looking at Boxx and digitalstormonline.

This website. pay a few hundred dollars for a cheap PC and play COD at full graphics from it. ‘Nuff said.

I recommend you build your own, and do it with parts from NewEgg or TigerDirect. I know TigerDirect has a great phone-based customer service center that will help you find the parts you need within the budget you have, based on specific needs.

Building your own is a good idea if you know how too…or you can do what ive done in the past and buy a cheap system like a HP or Gateway then just upgrade the Graphics Card and there ya go.
