I need to brush up on my microbiology. I’ll probably take an online course or teach myself from books/videos. As far as new knowledge- I really need to work harder on Chemistry. It’s just not clicking for me. Biology makes sense, basic chemistry makes sense- higher level chemistry? Bah. So for that I’ll probably hire a tutor.

Physics sounds like fun too. Or astronomy or any long arm of science, I suppose.

I am interested in learning genetics. Since I have my general studies done, and out of the way, the next step is to get away from community college, and jump to university.

Funny you should ask. I’ve recently started studying Ancient Greek again. I’m using a book that has some online resources, so it’s a bit entertaining. I hope to read The Iliad in the original sometime in the next 12 months. I would also like to look at some Plato especially The Republic.

@hawaii_jake: Εατ μυ ψηορτσ.

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

@gailcalled : How do you do that? I want to type in Greek, too!

gailcalled's avatar

@hawaii_jake: I can tell you how to do it on a Mac with OS Snow Leopard.But it gives me only the Greek alphabet σο I can transliterate from English.

Αμ Ι ψλεαρ?

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

@gailcalled : I want to learn to do that on my PC, and I think the first letter or your last word is incorrect. Besides that, you’re clear.

I should have typed “klear,’’ viz: κλεαρ.

And there is always the problem of eta vs. epsilon and omicron vs. omega.

I have no idea how το δο τηισ ον α PC. Sorry. ( And the “th” in “this” doesn’t look correct, either. It should be a “theta.”

Ask the techies here. It would be a good new question.

I’d really like to go back to college and study history although, I am aware that histoory is a very vast subject and I will have to be a bit more specific than that which is where the problem lies.
