Who was the voice actor who dubbed Hercules in Hercules in New York?

Asked by TheRocketPig (612points) June 13th, 2010

I’m having a real hard time with this one.

This is one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first movies. In the original run of the movie, they dubbed his voice to get rid of his Austrian accent. Since Arnolds rise to stardom the movie has been released with his original voice. (Hulu still has the dub if anyone wants to listen)

It’s not listed anywhere I can find. It kind of sounds like Paul Frees (Ghost Host on the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney / Morocco Mole) but I can’t find anything concrete.

Believe it or not, the guys name was also Arnold. I can’t remember his last name, but I just answered this on another question recently about the best worst movies. Schwarzenegger was listed as Arnold Strong. The voice over was Arnold Strahm or Straum or… I dunno, but they were are very similar names. Probably designed to create the confusion.

I’m wondering if you’re confused @RealEyesRealizeRealLies , The actor Arnold Strang was IN the movie as Hercules’ side-kick

@RealEyesRealizeRealLies yes, Arnold Strang was in the movie as Hercules’ side-kick as @prescottman2008 said. Side trivia is Arnold Strang was the voice of Top Cat!

But sadly I don’t think that Strang did Hercules’ voice.
