How accurate is Bing air fare predictor?

Asked by chelle21689 (7907points) June 14th, 2010

I don’t know if I should wait to buy my tickets or not. Right now it’s really expensive. I’ve usually had luck with Bing. What about you guys?

I attempted to use the information a few years ago when I was flying frequently, but never really benefitted from it. It’s a good idea…and, maybe by now they have their methodology down. If you’ve had good luck thus far, perhaps you should follow your instincts. Good luck.

You’re welcome…though I would like to have helped more.

I would try priceline.com I got a ticket from New York to California for only 250 plus 40 dollars in taxes. So a bit under 300 dollars.

@xStarlightx I’ve purchased tickets on “Name Your Own Price” priceline discounted to the point of they practically paid ME! Having said that, you might end up with more than one red-eye flight. It’s great if you’re willing to do that for yourself. But, if there are others going with you, they might not be so pleased. Perhaps you meant their standard discounted prices.

I usually have luck with Bing if I monitor closely. One night it was $350+ and I waited the next morning. I bought the ticket for only $312 in July. Only thing bothering me is the flight back, lol. The flight to LA is only 5 hours but on the way back home I’m looking at least 10 hrs…WOW!
