Engineering grad schools in southern California?

I want to go to grad school in California. What are some good schools in the area? Possible near San Diego or LA?

There are the UCs—UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC San Diego.

There’s also Berkeley in the Bay Area which is a little farther than those already mentioned, but with good programs.

I don’t think it is a good idea to pick a grad school primarily based on location. It’s important that you and your adviser mesh well and that your adviser’s expertise match your own career and degree interests and goals.
