NSFW - Longest time unintentially without sex?

Asked by sleepdoc (4668 points ) June 21st, 2010

I am not sure how many respsonse this will even get but here is the question. So you know how you can just get busy with life and maybe some things get shoved to the side. Well I am wondering if sex is one of those things that gets shoved to the side for any of the jellies. What is the longest amount of time you have unintentionally gone without sex? Meaning you didn’t think to yourself I am not going to have sex you just one day wake up and think to yourself holy cow it has been how long since we last did it?

Never had this problem. my body always sounded the alarm bell when i was “overdue”. even in todays fast pace world, there is always time for a “roll in the hay”. forget? never!

tedibear's avatar

37 days.

CMaz's avatar

Does masturbation count? As sex.

sleepdoc's avatar

@ChazMaz not for this question

chyna's avatar

3 years, 1 month, 2 days. But who is counting?

CMaz's avatar

3 months and counting, and I am loving every min. of it. Though I could have it every day and I miss it. But, better to be without.

bob_'s avatar

2 years.

tedibear's avatar

Oh, I guess I forgot about the time between divorce and dating again. That answer is about 18 months.

Vunessuh's avatar

Over a year.

sleepdoc's avatar

Now I am almost thinking I should have included and are you still waiting on it to end.

bob_'s avatar

@sleepdoc The clock was recently reset :D

Also, hey, who thought 2 years was a great answer? It’s a terrible, terrible answer!

I’m asexual. I’ve never felt, had, or understood sexual desire. Like most asexuals, I am physically capable of having sex (and tried it out of curiosity), but find it neither enjoyable nor desirable. I’ve been celibate about 20 years now. It’s not that I set out deliberately to avoid sex, but rather that it never even occurs to me to think about it, much less pursue it.

Seaofclouds's avatar

The longest in between relationships was about 2 years but that was my choice. The longest while in a relationship was probably about 3 months. The longest because we don’t have a choice has been 5 months and counting…

sleepdoc's avatar

@Seaofclouds… what is the countdown clock on?

chyna's avatar

@bob_ I got 2 GA’s for 3 years! That is not a great answer! It sucks!

Seaofclouds's avatar

@sleepdoc My husbands deployment. He’s been gone a little over 5 months now.

sleepdoc's avatar

@Seaofclouds .. I knew that when do you see him again is what I was asking.

Seaofclouds's avatar

@sleepdoc Oh, sorry. We’ve got about 3 more months (give or take a few weeks) until R&R and then a few months after that until the deployment is over.

sleepdoc's avatar

@Seaofclouds best wishes to you

MissA's avatar

10 years the longest segment of time. This segment is at 7 years and counting. Don’t feel like disclosing details, except to say that it’s much worse than only missing the physical part.

cookieman's avatar

About a month or two and only since becoming a parent.

damn kid’s always around :^)

ucme's avatar

About four months, owing to the latter stages of both pregnancies by the missus.Well I was squeamish, didn’t want baby near rumpy pumpy.Worth it though, aww baba’s are sooooo cute.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

Hmm, maybe 4 days.

chyna's avatar

@All Stop giving me GA’s for going without sex! It is pathetic, not a GA!

rebbel's avatar

I’m not going to say how many exactly, but it is somewhere between 7 and 9 years.
Feel a little bit awkward to say it now, just as like i did when i said it some years ago to some friends.
They reacted as if they heard that i just killed someone.
I almost had to feel guilty, i felt.
And they didn’t believe it as well, they thought it was just not possible for a human to be without sex for so long.
Well, it is.
And it is extra nice to have sex after that long time.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

Chyna’s up to one GA for every 161 days without.

chyna's avatar

@Adirondackwannabe Gee thanks, I hate accountants.~

Sarcasm's avatar

I wasn’t going to respond. But I felt the need to help @chyna not feel like the biggest loser winner loser.
It’s been roughly 7574 days without sex. Give or take a few February 29ths.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

You guys are sex camels. @chyna I didn’t take it out to the .2857 of a day. :)

chyna's avatar

@Sarcasm Where exactly do you live? Anywhere near me? lol

cookieman's avatar

I’ve seen photos of @chyna. I can’t imagine why there’s not a line of eligable bachelors looking to break that streek.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@cprevite Dog bites. Her dog is especially rough on a certain male anatomy.

Sarcasm's avatar

@chyna Opposite side of the country (if you do live in WV as your profile says)
@cprevite because us eligible bachelors live on the other side of the country.

BoBo1946's avatar

no one likes a bragger….all these people here bragging about their sex life!

chyna's avatar

@cprevite Aw, thank you. ::blushes::
@Sarcasm Yes, I’m in WV, unfortunately. I really need to move.

unused_bagels's avatar

about a month and a half. Sometimes the comforts of marriage can be alluring. Sometimes you remind yourself a little too often, “well we can always do it tomorrow.”

kenmc's avatar

Since December.

BoBo1946's avatar

they are still bragging! geezzzzzz

rangerr's avatar

Exactly 21 weeks.
Then the clock got reset.
Yessssss.

Jude's avatar

No idea (maybe, half a year?).

I had a few dates with Rosy Palm’s sister Two Digits during that time, though.

nailpolishfanatic's avatar

all my life of 16 years :D

mrrich724's avatar

my stomach hurts just thinking about going without it for more than a week.

stranger_in_a_strange_land's avatar

About 20 years. No social skills and too damned proud to pay for it.

Scooby's avatar

I was divorced over ten years ago that was about the last time I had sex, with the EX!! I’ve been making love ever since! ;-)

Neizvestnaya's avatar

A few months when single. I did however intentionally spend several years at a time abstinent. In a working relationship though then the longest has been about a week and that was because the person was out of town or there was a medical hiatus to wait out.

chyna's avatar

@sleepdoc I don’t believe you answered this question. So?

sleepdoc's avatar

Any of you that want my answer can ask in private ;)

annielorena's avatar

Maybe two weeks.

sleepdoc's avatar

@jjmah…. who me?

NaturallyMe's avatar

Probably my first 18 years or so as well. Mostly because i didn’t have a serious boyfriend until 18. Shortly after that it was intentional sexlessness (because i was religious and didn’t believe it was right to do it before marriage). Then somewhere along the way i became unreligious and so it didn’t matter anymore. So i was sexless for my first 26 years or so. After that, the longest unintional time is probably about 1 month, no particular reason except i was tired and didn’t like my job.

MRSHINYSHOES's avatar

Two whole weeks, when I was on a business trip that necessitated travelling to another city on the other side of the country. During that time, I was “reminded” quite regularly (that is, physically/biologically) that I needed and yearned for it, and I consciously made an effort to suppress it as best I could. It was difficult, and at the end of the two weeks (my business trip was 3 weeks in length), I couldn’t take it anymore and gave in. (lol) :(

Neizvestnaya's avatar

5 yrs in a mutually monogamous relationship. We couldn’t figure out what happened, we even went to couples and also individual counseling but stumped them so we stopped wasting money and split up. There was no abating of urges, we just didn’t connect after a bit.

partyrock's avatar

I didn’t really count the time I’ve gone on without sex but I would probably say like 3 months ? Or 4 months ? It went by so slow during that time…. lol
