What is the approximate value of a Taglit trip (Birthright Israel) for one person?

Asked by buckyboy28 (4961points) June 25th, 2010

I just got back from my trip and am still in complete awe that I did so much for 10 days without spending a penny for the trip. Does anyone know how much money is spent for one person to go on the trip?

According to this article, about $2500 per person in 2007.

Thanks, @PandoraBoxx

I looked on Swiss Air, and the flight alone would have cost me $1850. I still can’t believe that the trip was free.

The value of your experience to the state of Israel and the perpetuation of the Jewish religion is worth far more than the monetary cost.

@PandoraBoxx I completely agree. While it didn’t really affect my religiousness (which is still minimal), it certainly affected my support of the State of Israel in a huge way.
