Panasonic DVD-S43 Playing some divx in black and white

I bought this player around Christmas time and I am not sure why it plays some of my divx videos playback in black and white. It must not be a problem with the discs I am using due to the fact that when i put four or 5 movies on a disc, some of them play perfectly. I hear there is a setting through the player itself that will allow me to fix this, and some say no way. Any ideas?

This DVD player is almost retired, but here is a manual I found, which is still downloadable. I’d say get a newer DVD player with more up-to-date settings & abilities, something with an HDMI connection.
