Does iPhone OS 4 allow bluetooth audio in for the ipod touch?

Asked by XOIIO (18328points) June 30th, 2010

I am sick of going through the apple website and not finding anything, I want to know if it will detect bluetooth mics. If not I’m sticking with 3.0

Yes. Since iOS4 has the A2DP protocol u shouldn’t have any problems setting up Bluetooth since it has profile 2.1 already installed on your touch.

@Tenpinmaster iPhone OS 2 has the same protocol, and the headphones work but nt the built in mic. I want to know if the built in mic wil register.

Bluetooth audio for headphones have always worked since OS3. However, I don’t think bluetooth microphones will work even after the OS4 update.

But then again, I don’t see a reason why you shouldn’t update to OS4..

Because I have it jailbroken and it’s super bad ass!

I’ve had the features os4 has for months, and much more.

All I see. I assume you have the third generation ipod touch? The second generation can be jailbroken with the latest pwnage tools.
