Asked by bootonthroat (344points) June 30th, 2010

If right click—-> format cells—-> Number the results of my formula is still displayed with a $. How do I get calc to stop “helping me” and format the result of the formula as instructed?

Are you by chance visually impaired?

Mine is not doing that. I right click a cell, select Format Cell and Numbers. In the numbers dialog, I select -1,234.12 and set the decimal places to 2 and leading zeros to 1. WIth that set, I enter 2.00 and that’s exactly how it stays when I click to another cell. Something is weird with your copy of OpenOffice if it’s behaving differently.
