How can I fix this problem with a signature in gmail?

I use gmail for sending mails.If i add any signature & send or forward that mail then the added signature is seen at the top of the mails which i sent.But, while adding the signature a sentence written below the Signature text ”(appended at the end of all outgoing messages)”. But it does not work. after sending or forwarding the mails added signature always seen at the top as it should not be.
Also,How could i add the signature in some colors or in bold format?
I tried this way:Just opened the Compose mail tab,Wrote the text, made it bold,Italic & added a color to it.then, i went to Settings>General>Signature.I copied the text & pasted over there & saved the changes.
After doing this, I forwarded a mail but could not see the format which i made.
