Have you had any spiritual experiences (good or bad)? If so, what happened?

Asked by sprstar (114points) March 20th, 2008

I’m interested to hear things like angel stories and even creepy things you may have experienced like ghosts, haunted feelings, demons, Ouija experiences, light as a feather stiff as a board, etc.

I did the light as a feather thing once at a slumber party, that was pretty cool I have to admit. I have had a few personal experiences, I won’t share them because people tend to think you’re a nutcase and they really only have a serious impact on the person having them. Let’s just say that they gave me an awful lot of insight into life and death, and that death is nothing to fear, it’s just a change in your existence.

in russia I met a man he looked I would say 100 we prayed for him he walked away strate must have looked 60–65 when he walked off thats just one of many

Interesting. Why were you guys praying for him? Because he was old? And when you say he walked away and looked 60–65, it sounds like the view is from the back. Do you mean his face looked younger?

he ask for prayer and everything looked younger

I’ll share a couple of weird experiences I’ve had so people won’t feel weird sharing their stories.

1) One day I was lying on the carpet in my living room feeling the warm sun shine in from the window. I had my eyes closed, not because I was sleeping but just because I was relaxing and I felt footsteps walk by my face. You know how you would feel the carpet indent if someone was standing in front of you. I live alone in a 1 bedroom apartment. I wasn’t freaked out or anything but it was definitely weird.

2) Another experience similar to the above happened where I came home from school (I was in college) and sat down on my bed and laid back. I closed my eyes for just a short moment and then there was a voice that said something in my ears. I quickly opened my eyes and nothing was there. I even felt the feeling of breath on my ear, you know when someone whispers to you. That was very weird. Can’t remember if that freaked me out or not.

Do you think if people experience more “spiritual events” that they would be less freaked out by them when they happened? It’s hard to articulate my thoughts, but, what if people weren’t freaked out or weirded out by these experiences, would it open up the experience to a point where more understanding could be taken from it?

no I think we are all made different I walked away from God after seeing lots of things Thank God he never walked away from me

I ate some hawian baby woodrose seeds, candy flipped with ecstasy, the results were really quite spiritual, I felt like a vibration machine, spewing pure energy. If you call that spiritual, I do

My Father was in the hospital for back pain. His condition got worse over a weeks time, and his health deteriorated quickly. I was the only one around to help my Mother with all of this, so I called my brother to fly in and help me with things. He got there, and just a few minutes later, the nurses asked us to step out so they could reposition my Dad for the night. We went out into the hall, and I filled my brother in on what had happened over the week. The nurse came out and told us we could go back in. When I got to the threshold of his room, I felt as if someone said to me “Get ready”. I didn’t really hear it as much as “feel” it . The 11 O’clock news was on in the room across the hall, and they were covering Richard Nixon’s funeral. As I stepped into my Dad’s room, I heard taps playing on the TV across the hall. Minutes later, my Dad died. It was probably a coincidence, but it was creepy and comforting at the same time. It’s almost as if I was being prepared for what I would face in the next few minutes.

Senior year of high school, I had a freak stroke. My mom, dad and brother were with me the whole way. When I woke up the next day, my mom told me everything that happened and that she was calling everybody she knew, from family to friends to coworkers, asking them to pray for me. After she told me this, the doctor told me that I wasn’t supposed to live. Since then, I’ve recovered with absolutely no life-hampering side-effects. I look back on how blessed I am for not being limited to any disabilities

Scamp and jcs007 -those were great stories, thanks for sharing. I hope to hear more stories on this thread. This is so interesting to me.

One time I took a nap and the bed was covered in clothes so I had to crunch up on it and then I could feel the bed indent by my legs and I woke up and the bed was still indented like someone was still sitting there! Creepy but it happens so often that I just got used to it.

The day my father in law died my husband and I slept in the guestroom on twin beds. He had been sleeping in the bed I was sleeping in because his wife could not sleep in the master with him with all his loud cries with pancreatic cancer pain. I went to sleep and I jumped because I felt someone squeeze my big toe. that is something he would have done.

I have had a couple of dreams early in the morning that I remembered when I awoke as they were so fresh in my mind and which have come true. Nothing very dramatic and I didn’t even realise at first that I had dreamed this before it happened but when I did it felt very strange.

Maybe your relatives that have passed on were making the presence known.
