But I want to know if it is really actually good before I spend money watching or renting it. It looks good but I dont want to be disapointed if I watch it and dpnt like it all that much so please give me your oppinion on this!! Thank you!!

No, I don’t think it is. I’ve never been into Twilight, didn’t really have an opinion one way or another. I got really bored one night and the first Twilight movie was one of the only things I had available to watch, so I went for it. It was bad. I mean… Really bad. The acting, the plot… It was horrible. Totally not worth it.

I think people who read the book usually thought the movie was bad. Have you read the book?

I’m not into Twilight at all and I saw the movie. It was just so not interesting to me that I couldn’t get into it. =\

It’s a tween-type thing. Why do you think Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart always get all the teen awards?

Im about 13. Would I like twilight? I like adventerous-type movies and romance movies but I do not go crazy for movies that I love. I might get a little excited to watch it but do not get crazy. Please leave oppinions!!

No. It will rot your brain and make you an idiot. I saw the first movie with my mom. I thought it was super super lame. She then continued to watch it 12 times. IN A ROW. Then, I was forced by my friend to watch the second one. It was even worse. My mom just forced me to watch the third one (I’m such a freakin pushover >.>) I almost died. I heard breaking dawn (4th twilight book) Was the worst book ever written. It was. Here is a wonderful and hilarious example of how the book actually went; http://gigglish.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d1kx5wm.
And that really was what the book was like. Not kidding. Anyway. Please do not waste your life on such a stupid idea, series, and movie/movies. Read some good vampire book that doesn’t make your head explode :D

I say just watch it. I rarely agree with reviews on movies. If you want to save your money, see if one of your friends has it and will let you watch it. I think it’s best to form your own opinion about it.

For the record, I thought it was ok. Not the best movie ever, but not the worst either.

And FYI: Twilight is not romantic. It is creepy, and Edward is the perfect example of what a boyfriend should NEVER be.

I read the books and saw the movies. I enjoyed the books. The second movie was better than the first, but not that great.

The movies are poorly scripted and poorly directed. But they’re still better than the books, which are just hundreds of pages of pointless teen angst and abusive (or at the very least unhealthy when they aren’t flat-out abusive) relationships, followed by two or three chapters of plot when SMeyer realizes she should be near the end but nothing has happened yet.

My girlfriend tricked me in to watching the first one and I sat through it. To my surprise I was quite pleased with the film. It is cheesy at times and a little over the top at times and nothing is really left for interpretation however I liked it enough to sit through the second one. The second film was bloody awful. I would have rather snorted fire ants. The cinematography sucked, the acting was worse, the story had more holes than a porno….Just bad stuff.

Compared to what?

Compared to Interview With The Vampire by Anne Rice it doesn’t hold a candle.

And she was even surprised by what a good job Tom Cruise did with Lestat and said the movie did a good job with her book.

If you want smarmy teenage crap then you’ll love Twilight.

It all depends upon your taste.

I would go with Anne Rice if you like vampire stuff. At least there’s some depth of character and sense of historical scope with her stuff.

And Brad Pitt is easy on the eyes too.

I’m not a big TC fan because of his kooky Scientology rantings but he does do a good job in this movie if you can get into it enough to let you forget it’s him. As kooky as he is in RL he’s still a decent actor.

I remember a long time ago I saw twilight and i really wanted to see new moon because of a fan-made preview… previews sometimes are so much cooler/funnier than the actual movie… ._. But I’d recommend watching twilight to understand why people are either hyped about it or clearly disappointed. THEN go to youtube and watch parodys if you liked or disliked because they’re actually funny. :D

I agree with @YARNLADY. The books are good, for what they are. I didn’t read them with any expectation that it was going to be some life changing literature. It’s a cute little vampire love story. I haven’t liked the movies very much at all. The first was horrible, the second a little better. My friend and I are going to see Eclipse, just because we’ve gone to the others, but I don’t have great expectations.

Twilight teaches you nothing more than how important it is to have a boyfriend.

The movie is like watching Napoleon Dynamite. In other words it is boring and sucks ass. I think it’s better to read the book, like any other book based movie.

I think the messages in Twilight are not good for teenage girls. It’s the same old stuff about a girl not doing anything to deal with her own life waiting for some boy to come along and make things exciting, and she depends on these boys to make her feel special. :P

Don’t take it to heart. Watch the film and just keep it to, “Oooh, Robert Pattinson/Taylor Lautner is really cute!”

Tink's avatar

Going to get laughed at but whatever.

When I started reading them it was just because I saw others reading it and thought to myself “what the heck”. So I bought all four. I finished each book in less than three days… I didn’t really agree with the plot, I just wanted to keep reading. Hey, at least I read something. And yes, I did get caught up in the craze, I had some posters and a few shirts (which are all gone now). I wasn’t crazy-crazy for it though.

Back to the books, Twilight was okay, not the best book ever. New Moon was meh just meh. Now Eclipse was the best one, to me at least. Breaking Dawn was too much horny Bella wanting to get it on anywhere at all times while their daughter was sleeping in the next room. It wasn’t anything like reading a good erotica though.

Now the movies, Twilight sucked, it made people pick on the books even more. New Moon was complete utter shit, probably as worse as the Hannah Montana movie. I saw Eclipse the Friday after it came out, which I remember was July 4th. That one didn’t disappoint me. It was pretty good. There I said it, I liked Eclipse and I would watch it again. I don’t know about Breaking Dawn. We’ll see, since they changed movie directors for every one. Most of the books were better than the movies.

Wait a moment July 4th was a Sunday. Too late to edit my response so I’ll clear that up here. Oh man..

I just saw the movie. It was OK but not fantastic. But I would not mind watching it again.

Just to note, no normal “functioning relationship” should include an extremely protective man that makes every decision. Being a bossy asshole doesn’t mean that he “cares”.
(I’m so nervous for the young twilight fans and how they’ll be influenced by this movie.)
