BF/GF IN TROUBLE!!! Is there a beach in Indiana that is aprox 2 hrs from Berwyn, IL? If you don't know, do you know how to find out?

Asked by pikipupiba (1629points) July 22nd, 2010

Long story short, my girlfriend came down to Champaign (2.5 hrs from Berwyn) and her parents found out she is not spending the night at her friend’s house. She said they went to a beach in Indiana. Now we just need an ACTUAL beach that is about 2 hrs from Berwyn.

Thank you so much for any help!!!

Photoshop could make you a beach if you are going after photo evidence.

Try google maps. Or just come clean, it might be easier.

If she still needs to answer to her parents in college… there’s something wrong there.

@Adirondackwannabe The reason we have to lie is because if it were up to her parents, we wouldn’t see each other all summer. It’s not that they don’t like me, it’s just that neither of them trust us alone. I wish we didn’t have to sneak, but there is just no other way.

@poofandmook She still lives at home over the summer.

The sad part is, she’s in college, but, still has to listen to Mommy and Daddy.

It might be a good idea to take your girlfriend to a tan studio before she returns to her parents.
For the finishing touch of the lie.

@rebbel bahaha Maybe…

Next time, if she’s around the age of 18, she should try standing up for herself.

Have you looked at a map?
From Berwyn to the IL/IN border is 35 minutes.
From Berwyn to the IN/MI border (That is to say, the furthest coastal part of Indiana) is an hour and a half.
There are roughly 45 miles of Indiana coast at your disposal, all within 2 hours.
Not to mention you have all of the Illinois coast at your disposal. It’s the same lake, who’s going to know the difference?

You’ll need GPS and or YELP. Get busy. Let us know how this turns out. PS, I hope your mother is not on Fluther. haha motherfluther

Warren Dunes is exactly 2 hours from Berwyn 16 miles over the border into Michigan. I go there a lot with the scouts and has one of the best dunes to climb and the infamous mud river where bathers go to get caked in the most amazing mud. It is a riot!

Thank you all so much! As it turns out, her mom didn’t even ask specifics. I know mine would have, so I wanted to have her back.

Feed her info about a beach just in case and we had a brief rain shower here around noon today.

Indiana dunes…....

@pikipupiba I’ve long been of the opinion that if you go through every failed scenario for a given venture then they won’t happen. If you miss one, it’ll bite you in the ass.

Or, in English, if you hadn’t gotten information about a beach then it would have come up.

@mrentropy Wow, very wise words!

This will probably get moderated, but does anyone else smile about the effort we used to go to to get laid when we were in our teens?
