Is there a any brand of iPod/iPhone dock speaker that would also amp a record player?

Asked by TeamSaki (29points) July 23rd, 2010

I have a Stanton brand record player and I want sound from it in the the most minimal way possible. ( I can note that super quality sound is not important for me). I currently have a big bulky Panasonic amp/tuner and some old speakers. I thought it would be cool if I could make a Bose or comparable iPod dock/speaker product also amp the record player to free up space and look better. Does such a product exist?

Depends if you record player has ‘line out’ or ‘phono out’.

Line out plugs into things like docks. Most new turntables have line out.

Phono requires an amplifier with ‘phono in’. Most old turntables have phono out.
