What's the coolest wallet?

Asked by hungerforpizza (247points) August 3rd, 2010

I am looking to get a new wallet, and I don’t want a normal bi/tri-fold. Any examples of cool wallets? Links please!

I’m not really a bacon person, but I do like the Tyvek idea

It isn’t a wallet, but I once gave an exGF a bull scrotum clutch purse. You could probably find one made into a wallet.

@WestRiverrat Uh that doesn’t really sound like my kind of thing

I can’t think of any personal item I own that I’ve spent more time trying to find the perfect style of. In fact, I have a white Apple bag full of wallets I’ve bought, used a while, then discarded. Currently I’m using one I just bought and so far really like—a single fold with a metal money/receipt clip on the outside, several slots on the inside for credit cards, and one see-through slot for drivers license. It’s light and thin enough to ride comfortably in either my side or rear pocket. I think it’s a Fossil brand.

I tend to find really cheap and different wallets here. check the sale section .

@Austinlad Good point, but i like flashy wallets

@hungerforpizza If you have an idea of what you want, give Lever a holler. He will custom make a wallet to your specs if at all possible. That is if he doesn’t have too many orders in front of you.

This is by far the coolest wallet in existence.

Only thing is, it’s totally mundane and foldout…still flashy though.

Wallets aren’t too hard to make. Leather, cutters, hole-puncher, leather cord, and beeswax for a finish. Will last much longer than store-bought wallets if you put it together well. And if you learn how to make it, you’ll know how to repair it.

a Ragged Edge Gear wallet is a bit different than most. They are made of carbon fiber and sailcloth. The wallet is highly water resistant and easily washable. These materials are very durable and wear very little. They are a bit pricey but mine has been around for 2(?) years and it looks like it came out of the box.

I saw one for sale on one of those SkyMall magazines that’s micro steel cables woven together. Looked pretty darned indestructible to me!

None. They are so passé.
