Any advice on preparing for the A2 Nursing entrance exam?

Asked by anietfeld (37points) August 5th, 2010

So I bought the Hesi Evolve Reach Admission Assessment Exam Review and am studying through it so I can take my A2 test before the end of this summer. I am just worried because my Biology, Chemistry and Physics skills are not the greatest. I hear people say the exam review is not worth it because it has nothing to do with the test. How am I supposed to prepare myself if I feel like what I am studying is going to be nothing like the test. I do not have any old notes in any of the topics, but I have gone on youtube for some of the biology information. If anyone has studied this exam review and taken the test could you help me out? Thanks :)

I’m not familiar with that exam, but when I applied for nursing school, I had to take a NLN (National League of Nursing) exam. I bought a study guide and took many practice exams. There was a lot of information covered in the study guide because the exam covers several topics. I felt the study guide did help because it gave me a chance to get a refresher on the information. The NLN exam had questions in reading comprehension, math (fractions, decimals, and conversions), and science (biology, chemistry, and anatomy & physiology).

Good luck on your exam and nursing school!

I’ve never taken this particular exam, but I’ve taken many similar exams in the past. My favorite way to prepare for any standardized test is to find and do as many practice tests (or questions) as possible. Themes tend to repeat themselves (and sometimes precise questions too), so this has always been my way of preparing.
