What is a good place to find friends with similar interests in NYC?

Hey fluther! Darky here. I was just wondering what websites could I go on to find people who are homosexual or with similar interests I have and lives in New York. The reason for this is because I am Bisexual(mostly on the gay side) and I am trying to meet new friends. They can be people who accept me for who I am, who is Gay, Bisexual, Bi-Curious, Lesbian or could even be a transexual. Please leave a comment below if you have a idea of a website that I could visit. Thank you.

Well, honestly, I would suggest for you to go out in your neighborhood somewhere to meet new people instead. Does your school/college (if you’re that age) have a Gay-Straight Alliance? If so, that’s a great place to start.

Go online and look for a Gay community center in your area. New York definitely has a lot of that. They might even have something posted on a bulletin board at your local YMCA or youth center. I believe that PFLAG has a lot of meeting places in NYC. You could attend a meeting there and ask around about support groups for gays and lesbians.

Being online to meet new people is a a good start, I guess, but I think it would be even more beneficial to meet people in real life. :)

Meetup. They have a meetup for everything and everyone. They have more groups in NYC that you could beat with a stick.

bro, i was born and raised in NYC… walk around, it’s the greatest city in the world and pick up those cheesy newspapers like the Pheonix, gay or not, you’ll find plenty of things to do and people!!!!
