Xbox 360 headset problems?

When i am talking my friends say that i lagg when i talk. Is it the headset or my Xbox. I had my headset for over a year now..

It may just be your connection. What kind of internet connection do you have? If you have cable or dsl which is around 1.5 mbps it may be too slow.
