Does bacon have less fat and calories if you cook/burn it to a crisp?

Asked by tinyfaery (44083points) August 17th, 2010

I’d like to think it does. My bacon starts out long and fatty and ends up tiny and crispy. Surely I’ve cooked most of the fat out. Right?

Who cares. It’s so good!

But, I have to believe the answer is yes. Since more fat in the pan is less fat in your body.

I like the Turkey bacon, less fat and grease and still makes a killer BLT..my only bacon weakness!

Yes, I like to believe it does. And if anyone has scientific proof otherwise, please keep it to yourself. I like the fantasy’s I have created.

@chyna You’re correct, it does. I saw this demonstrated with bacon and with pizza. They blotted the fat off with paper towels. The more that stays on the towel, the less you eat.

I do blot my pizza but I likes my bacon fatty. So sue me!

Blot your pizza? That is the best part of it. All that yummy oil. ;-)

Yuck! Eat your bacon! and do alittle more exercise in my book! Like have sex or something the day you ate the bacon. I like that idea.

I had a BLT with corn on the cob last night. Does anything say summer more than that? Long live the bacon eaters.

I now have MY dinner tonight…the local corn is amazing this year!

I’m sure deep frying bacon in its own animal fat until it is crisp or burnt is low in calories and very healthy!

Well, since the Dr. says so…

I’ll have you all know how easily led I am, this little lemming has the turkey bacon, snap, crackle, popping right now for a killer BLT!

Man…the power of suggestion when under the ravenous influence of a champagne hangover! lol

Yes, but the black stuff contains carcinogens.
