My inlaws do not pay taxes can this effect my family?

Asked by solittletime (2points) March 24th, 2008

My inlaws do not pay taxes and they have debt. Creditors have called my house and we barely talk to my husbands parents. If something happens to them will this come back to us?

No. their debt is their debt. When they die, the creditors have to be paid out of their estate before their heirs, and that is the only way it could effect you, unless of course you co-signed on a loan or something.
