Any suggestions for a great birthday surprise for my husband?

Asked by Akua (4730points) August 24th, 2010

I have until December to come up with a great idea to surprise my husband with on his birthday. Problem is I don’t have a lot of money so I’m working on a shoestring budget. What are some things guys here on this forum would like their wives/girlfriends to do for them on their big day? What would really blow your mind and make you think “wow I can’t believe she thought of this!” Please be creative because like I said, money is tight right now.

He probably won’t even care about the big money gifts. Do a candlelight situation with dinner and stuff and then get in some slutty lingerie and dance for him and he’ll most likely ravage you like a convict that was just released from prison.

MAKE him a feast!

Disclaimer: If you can cook.

Burn him a CD of his favorite music. Give him a killer massage and go for a walk holding hands after.

It depends on the guy. I would love a BBQ and keg with my friends. A surprise bbq.

I know friends that would want a picnic where they proposed.

You know him better than we do. Can you toss out some ideas and we could help refine them?

Write love notes of what you are going to do to him to him to be hidden between the pages of library books (of subjects relevant to him or you )
don’t forget to write down titles
Send him to the library of course..
Bake his Bd cake
Find a sexy outfit
Answer the door in that outfit, holding the cake. The rest is up to you

Do you have any old friends he doesn’t see often? Maybe the people who introduced you? Or the people who were on the spot when you first met?

You could tell him you are going out for a bite or just to someone’s place. And when he arrives its the scene where you first got to know each other!

Wow these are all great ideas. @johnpowell here is some more about him: he’s a man! LOL. He loves to ocassionally go out with his friends but doesn’t have too many and doesn’t do it often. He’s a social drinker, loves motorcycles, cartoons, LOVES to eat good food, loves comedy like Martin and Dave Chapelle. If I throw him a big party I will have to spend lots on food and drinks for the guests and just like hubby, most of his friends are in Law enforcement and work jacked up hours. Rarely is everyone off duty at the same time.

Oh and did I forget to mention that he’s a man and he likes sex. A lot.

Akua's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille .. I could do that. All except the library books. He’s usually too tired to read. lol

Another thing, he likes firearms. I thought about taking him to the Smith and Wesson range to shoot a while, then out to a strip club. Then finish him off when I get him home. I can eat his b-day cake off of him. Whatcha think?

@Akua-Reading the book isn’t required;) Just your love note ;)))

@Akua You don’t need us you have great ideas! Take Lucille’s idea and write some sexy ideas on the cartridge shells and have a blast!!

Akua's avatar

@Cruiser thanks! I wasn’t sure if I should be more romantic or should I take him to do guy stuff so I figured maybe I should just mix it up. I’ll even pay for him to get a lap dance and those clubs are not that pricey. @lucillelucillelucille , I’m writing down ideas in my notebook for the lovenotes. Good looking out sis!

Take a pole-dancing class between now and then, and work out a lot to improve your flexibility.

my mom took our whole family and some of my parents friends to a 60th surprise birthday for my dad out in vegas in july of 09. I mostly just drank as I am not a big fan of gambling what so ever like the rest of my family.. mainly my mom, my brother and at many of times my dad. But if you really like to gamble thats an idea. Or you could just go somewhere else that you really enjoy. It depends on your budget too. Anything simple can be amazing too and mean just as much if the right time, thought and planning are involved. goodluck!

oops my bad, scratch the trip planning… i just now noticed it said you were on a tight budget, join the club. im sorry.

Akua's avatar

@Robot sounds like you had fun. I don’t gamble either.

Akua's avatar

@BarnacleBill Pole dancing huh? hmmm… thanks for the idea I’ll look into it.

@Akua actually i was happy for my dad and both my parents to be able to enjoy themselves, they love Vegas and my dad was very surprised however it was way too humid out there end of july/beginning of august and so i ended up getting drunk with my siblings and their signifigant others a few of the nights and the others just got wasted in the hotel room bc i dont do clubs either. I’d give my fam money and have them each bring beer up to my room bc on the floor its free, you only have to tip a dollar. so for ME, it wasnt the most fun of trips but it was decent i guess. Vegas is not for me lol

My wife surprised me one year with a flying lesson. It was only about $80 for an hour. And I was flying the plane less than 20 minutes into the lesson.

It was completely unexpected, and a lot of fun.

@Robot yea Vegas is not my first choice for a vacation or trip. I like hot weather but I hear it’s just too much. And since I don’t gamble, do clubs or even drink a lot (the most I like is wine or a couple Pina Colada’s), it doesnt sound entertaining to me.

Akua's avatar

@robmandu that’s sounds like fun but hubby hates flying. He would freak. Especially if it’s a small plane. LOL.

Robot's avatar

yea i agree haha i thought that before i went out there but because it was for my dad and my mom was paying for it and i had my own room, plus was kind of escaping a very difficult personal experience at home with stuff i used to be into I thought what the hell. It was the 2nd time i was there, before that i went when i was 12 so it was even less entertaining then lol. But yea,i actually despise the heat. I’d take winter any day over summer my body seems to handle that better. I wish i could think of something to offer you for advice in a great surprise however the only thing that comes to mind with a low budget is a huge surprise party and tell everyone to bring something. I know i could be more creative then this however I’d have to know what the person really likes or know them personally which I am guessing you obviously do. I’m sure whatever you choose will be great. goodluck to you again! : )

My wife once gave me a book of cupons for everything from a steak dinner to kinky sex acts. That was my best birthday present ever. (By the way, she was the only one that was allowed to redeem them)
