I answered a question from that category, but now I can’t find it.

If you click on the topic in your question it will take you there.

Ok, but lets just say that I turn on Fluther the first time in the morning, and decide to answer the community service questions. Where will I find them?

I clicked on that link and got a picture of a blue sea creature surrounded by the words “Oh no, we couldn’t find /topics/community%20service/ and
“You may have followed an old link, typed in the address incorrectly, or are just trying to make us feel bad.

Go home or contact us.”

@johnpowell Bad link. The dang space between the two words is a problem.

Work on topics is still in the early stages. Hopefully this situation will improve with time.

@YARNLADY If you’re new to Fluther, then you type in “Community Service” in the search box.
Then you click on the link that says “Fluther: Explore topic: community service”
And that brings you to the “community service” topic section.

@rangerr No, I am not new to Fluther – what is new is that I answered a question that took me to a new category called community service, and now I can’t find the tab that leads to that category. I am trying to find out why.

P. S. Where is “Fluther: Explore Topic”?

I know you’re not new. I misread your quip up there. But the same applies..
Click on the topic “community service” in the topics section of this question. You’ll get there. There’s no “tab” that I’m aware of, though..

And search for community service with the search box. It should be the second result.

Yes, I did find it in the search box.

What I want to know is why, when I answered a ‘community service’ question, my answer and the question were transferred to a ‘community service’ category, which I can not see anywhere.

Some how you ended up in the topic tab which only shows up when you are in that topic. Most likely the question had it as one of it’s topics, but I’m not sure how you got into the tab unless you clicked on ‘community service’ somewhere.

The admins are currently working on revamping the topics, so maybe it had something to do with that.

Nope, it was automatic. When I go to ‘home’ I see tabs for General, Social, Federated, Just For You, and Meta, yet the question I answered went to a community service category. Where is it?

augustlan's avatar

There is no community service ‘category’, it’s just a topic. Currently, there is no direct way to get there. You must either click on the topic in a question, or type it into the search box and then choose “explore topic: community service”. As I mentioned up there ^^ topics are being worked on, and we hope to make the whole system more functional as time goes on.

Thanks @augustlan It’s the first time I have ever answered a question and received a message it was in the community service category, and there is no such category. Weird.
