What your favourite aisle of the supermarket to hang out in?

Asked by iammia (1405points) September 10th, 2010

Or spend most time in, deliberating your purchases?

And why?

The frozen foods section. That is where all the cool people hang!

Produce. I like to examine before I buy.

@Ben_Dover Yeah, I like to chill there too.

The outside aisle of the grocery store. that’s where all the healthy things are :)

Hmm…any aisle that is peopleless lol (except the condom section – I can’t be seen loitering near the condoms!).

Although, if it’s cold out ..I will hang out by anything warm. If it’s hot out, I end up stuck in the freezer section.

Produce. So colourful!

Fresh baked goods.. I could linger and drool for ages.

(what you don’t know about me: I almost went to school to be a pastry chef, but it was too expensive)

Fresh produce and cheeses.

Produce. I like all the pretty colors.

I think that the processed food aisles might actually be more colorful than the produce aisles. Around here, anyhow. The produce aisle just looks so much more appetizing.

Produce is my favorite area of any grocer though ..and sometimes a tiny peek into the candy aisle.

Well on the odd occasion I buy them there, it’s the Xbox games & dvd’s area I spend most time in. They can be way cheaper than the games stores.Besides it’s a welcome oppurtunity to get away from the chatty buggers who take up the aisle space! :¬)

Plucky's avatar

@ucme You have games and dvd’s in your grocery store?

Oh wait, nvm lol. We have huge superstores like that here too. I was thinking just grocery.

ucme's avatar

@PluckyDog Ahh now nobody said grocery store now did they. Supermarket is what you’re looking for & here in England town, you can purchase just about anything you want there. :¬)

Plucky's avatar

Lol yes. And, in supermarkets I tend to spend most time in the games/electronics section as well ;)

Produce. I like that I can pick out and bag my own food instead of picking up a prepackaged variety.

I love the International foods aisle. So many neat food choices.

None of them. Yukky store, I get in and out as fast as I can.

I’d have to agree with @MissAnthrope and say the baked goods section, everything looks good and smells delicious!

The grocery store I go to also sells guns and ammunition. I spend most of my time in that aisle.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

The nudist section…incredible variety.

marinelife's avatar

I don;t hang out anywhere. I am on the move.

lonelydragon's avatar

The beauty section. I stand there torturing myself with the expensive, pretty lip glosses I can’t afford. I jones for lip gloss the way some people jones for cigarettes.

Next to the tampons, then striking up casual conversation.

I don’t hang out in the grocery place. I’m in, I get my shit, I pay for it and I’m out. And I fucking hate it when people congregate in the middle of the aisles like as if only they existed and that people around them weren’t actually trying to get by and get on with their fucking lives. Get your goddamn carts outta my face, stop talking about menopause or what cereal makes you shit the best and just let me through. It only takes me about two seconds to get by, then you can go back to your meaningless existence. It’s not complicated. PLEASE. I’m a busy girl and I got shit I gots to do.

Naaaah I kid. I totally love the coffee section, myself. Smells cool by there.

cockswain's avatar

Well if you go to buy tampons I’m going to talk to you about it.

Wegman’s is our major supermarket, and they have an excellent prepared foods section. That’s usually where I hang out, trying to figure out what to buy so I don’t have to cook dinner!

Rhodentette's avatar

Fresh produce in summer because it’s cool there and the green vegetables add a visual element of cooling down.

Wine in winter because I’m usually decided on what the perfect one is to curl up in front of the fire with.
