Anyone have a fabulous recipe for Greek Salad (aka Greek Village Salad...no lettuce is involved)?

Asked by ava (985points) March 27th, 2008

I always buy this fabulous Greek Salad from the deli at my grocery store, however they refuse to give me the recipe, and I would love to be able to make it myself! Their version has no lettuce and no green peppers…any idea?

1 Red onion sliced,
1/2 cucumber peeled and cut into chinks
1 green pepper deseeded and sliced
3 beef tomatoes sliced
200g pack of feta cheese chopped
juice of 1/2 a lemon
4 tbsp of olive oil

Put everything in a bowl season with salt and pepper and drizzle over the lemon juice and olive oil.

Serve.

If you leave out the feta cheese it becomes a Turkish salad
