How do I turn my camera on my MAC back on?

Asked by peggylou (1138points) September 17th, 2010

Somehow I have turned the camera above my Mac screen off. So my grandson cannot see me when we Skype; just hear me. The green light to the side of the camera lens is not on. How do I turn the camera on?

I use mine with Photo Booth. Perhaps if you use yours, it will automatically be back on. That’s the best I can offer.

When I talk to my husband on instant messengers (we usually use yahoo), my camera (on my macbook) will automatically come on once I hit “webcam” on the instant message window. On Skype, it says “video”. If you click that, the camera should come back on so that your grandson can see you again. Hope it works for you.

Skype—> Preferences—> Video

Is the camera on in there? It should look like this.
