What settings do I need to use on Fraps when I'm creating a video to put on Facebook?

Asked by mathwhiz1 (264points) October 6th, 2010

I’ve created several videos, but when I went to put them on Facebook, I kept getting error messages saying that they couldn’t be processed. Under Fraps’s video capture settings, I’ve tried 30 fps and 60 fps, but I keep getting the same result. Also, my videos open up in VLC Media Player. Another thing I have done is use Windows Movie Maker to shrink the movies, since they are originally 3.9 GB. They get shrunken down to 24 MB. Could any of these affect the processing of the videos? Do I need to lock the frame rate on Fraps? I have a PC.

I believe that when Facebook says that the video could not be processed, it’s a problem with the video format you’ve chosen. Go look on the FAQ about posting videos and see what it says.

When I tried to upload a video, it would not process it because I had used the wrong audio codec in the video.
