You dont say how far along you are but I assume it is probably end of second or in third trimester, The fetus is growing and depending on position you may feel aches and pains in various parts of your body or back. The hormones lead to stretching of ligaments and this can also cause discomfort. If your doctor says it is ok, you might be able to take some Tylenol. For more comfort in sleeping get a long body piller that will help support and cushion your body.

possibly some stretching…but since I dont now your history, to be safe always check with obgyn. I do remember the discomfort and while it seems like it will go on forever, in the end it is worth it.

That is such an irritating feeling. :( I remember it well. I used to wish I had one of those torture devices, “The Rack.” A good stretching on that thing would have help my ribs tremendously!

Call your doctor or ask at the next visit if you can take Tylenol for this when the pain is most severe. This article has some other ideas you might find helpful.

Good luck, and remind yourself often that this is only temporary!

I had this as well. Stretching helped a little, A535 helped a little and a heating pad helped a little. Since it’s happening from the inside, there’s only so much you can do. I was nursing thru this and often felt I should be the one lying down!!
