Whether it’s yours or not, I’m curious.

Very unhappy! I just asked if a fluther related site (run by the owners of fluther) was taken down. The mods said it was “too spammy.” What’s that about?!?!

A removed question shouldn’t make you feel bad, you can always edit it. Most of the time you just slipped up or didn’t really explain something as well as you should have in order to expect people to spend time answering your question. If you ever feel a question was removed in error, use the link in the header of the site.

Another common reason for moderators removing questions is that the question is regarding Fluther itself (use the chat room, contact link or read the about!), or is easily answered elsewhere.

@eambos: What?!! Weird!!! I’m just waiting to see how long it takes them to delete this one!!!

richardhenry's avatar

@Eambos: questions like that are really better for the chat room, instead of the front page of Fluther.

eambos's avatar

Why would somone who has worked as hard as me to get my score up start spamming out of the blue? It was a serious question and no one was in the chatrooms to ask.

Edit: I guess it doesnt matter now, the site is back up.

I feel like screaming “freedom”

@Eambos: you make a fair point, we’ll put in more consideration in the future. You’re a great user and we love having you around. Sometimes we jump the gun when trying to keep the Fluther homepage looking clean. Thanks for the feedback.

ANARCHY!!! ANARCHY!!!

No grandma, not my prison shank!

Babo's avatar

Freedom? Babo confused…

eambos's avatar

Why thank you. Didn’t see your last post =P

Eambos: Fluther site (and chat) mods have access to backlogged chats, so leave your comment in man o’ war and one of us will make sure the proper Jellies are notified.

Highest Regards,

Riser

eambos's avatar

Thank you for clearing that up.

Eambos: to defend you though. We need to have a dedicated link on the homepage for chat, both man o’ war and watering hole.

As it stands… The iPhone access is even more limited and until this is resolved, we shouldn’t negate your Fluther related questions. How can we expect you to swing the hammer if we never showed you what a hammer is?

eambos's avatar

Yeah, its very hard to change a question from the iPhone. Its not even an option on the mobile screen. I have the link for wateringhole bookmarked, but I can’t find the man o war from the iPhone.

I am all for removing questions that dont follow the guidelines. Only once has a question been removed that i was sad about and only because there was some good debate in there. But the question was geared to go a certain way off the bat so it makes sense that it was taken off. Just follow guidelines and you’ll be fine

like a loser!!!

It makes wildflower wither :(

What about taking the opposite tack? Perhaps being removed could be a learning experience. I enjoy the challenge of rewriting a question so that it fits the guidelines. It is like rewriting a paper in order to change the grade from a B to an A. Live and learn, I say.

Is it healthy to be a point junkie? Just asking….

iCeskate's avatar

gosh I hate fluther for that because they’re insanely stupid for doing it

richardhenry's avatar

@iceskate: Could you elaborate? Do you have a specific complaint? (Or were you being sarcastic… I can’t tell?)

iCeskate's avatar

well I have ask questions like wharf the worst thing youve done that you don’t want your parents to know and it was deleted!!!

eambos's avatar

Maybe improving your spelling and grammar could help?

richardhenry's avatar

@iceskate: Questions are never ‘deleted’, they are simply pushed back into editing. Read up why this happened in the email you will have received, and then go ahead, follow the link and edit the question. If it was for spelling and grammar, then all you need to is a quick correction and it’s probably ready for publication. Hope this helps.

loser's avatar

about as crappy as having 3 of your answers removed, huh babo?

loser's avatar

What on earth did you say?!!

wildflower's avatar

There is something intriguing about deleted answers, isn’t there?

Babo's avatar

I didn’t say anything bad, I swear!!!

wildflower's avatar

Wildflower believes Babo :)

Babo's avatar

Thank you wildflower!!!

scamp's avatar

I didn’t say anything bad either, but one of my comments got removed. I wrote to richardhenry to ask why, but he won’t answer me.

richardhenry's avatar

I just answered.

scamp's avatar

Thanks, but that is more rude than the comment you deleted. Enjoy your game.

richardhenry's avatar

Sorry, I didn’t mean to he rude. Your comment was fine, and I apologise.

scamp's avatar

Thank you! I accept. And thank you for editing out what you just said to me here as well.
