You might want to consider the services of ifixit.

They provide parts, tools, and instructions to help you fix your own Apple products. It definitely takes some determination and patience, but, the cost savings may make it the best option for you.

They happen to sell the display assembly for $249.95.

once you have fixed your phone then get a cover from otterbox. It covers the whole phone and has a protective scratch free clear cover over the screen. Check out www.otterbox.com
