In Windows XP, where do I change the time for automatically logging off?

Sounds like the screensaver timeout setting. Control Panel|Display|Screen Saver Tab. This should have a time period listed and a check box in “on resume, password protect” or some such verbage.

yeah, it sounds like the screensaver time out setting if you are talking about your home computer. if this is the case, it shouldn’t be logging you off, it’s just locking the computer to prevent someone from walking up and using your computer, but it leaves you in the way that you left it so that you don’t have to load everything again. If you are talking about a work computer and your admins have an auto-logoff setting, then there’s nothing you can do about it.

Wow how quickly we forget. I was making that SO much harder than it was. Because it kept going to the welcome / login screen I assumed it had to do with privleages.
