Yeah, that’s pretty cool, a lot of performers (Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Moby, BT, etc.) are getting into LCD or projection-based visual controllers over the old ‘tactile’ surfaces. Check out this approach:

There are a lot of folks going in this direction; couple that with Microsoft’s upcoming release of their touch surface and you have a sense of where it’s heading!
