Is there a preference to open files at 100% in Photoshop (CS3)?

All of the files you open in Photoshop are automatically resized so that you can see the entire image in the current window. This usually means it’s reduced to 33.33%, etc. So every time I open a file I’m constantly forced to resize it back to 100% to start working.

Naturally this becomes very repetitive. Is there a preference workaround for this?

I’m running 10.5, Photoshop CS3

Not that I know of… although on the other hand, starting with fit zoom is useful for making sure you’re working on the current version and that there are no anomalies before you get started.

Out of interest, what type of work do you use Photoshop for?

Welp, I just tried to record a Photoshop ACTION, in an attempt to make a simple 1-key shortcut for zooming to 100%.

It didn’t work. Sorry buddy.

The only other thing I would suggest is a trick you probably already know. The fastest way to zoom to 100% is to double-click the Zoom Tool on your tool pallette.

But I like your idea of making that default zoom into an editable option in Photoshop preferences. You should write to Adobe about it. I’ll make sure to do the same.
