What are some good, current rock bands?

The Shys, Lola Ray, Bayside, The Lashes, The Killers, etc.

What you might do to find new music is go to finetune.com and listen to lets say "led zeppelin" playlist - and finetune will automatically play songs similar to led zeppelin songs on your playlist. Its a great place for discovering new music.

pandora.com (the music genome project) sounds a lot finetune.com. Good way to find music.

but pandora doesnt let you preview every song by an artist in the way finetune does -plus finetune loads faster

Listen to The Killers. They're a really good band that's currently enjoying some success. Also, of course, use finetune. It's a really great site, I used it to put a playlist on my blog.

Nickelback has some good rock stuff out now.

Wolfmother!

mando diao, black rebel motorcycle club, deadboy and elephantmen, kasabian, queens of the stone age are a few faves.

i'm also a big fan of zeppelin and the who, some good current rock bands are: wolfmother, the white stripes (of course), and the strokes. to get a taste for each, i'll give you a good song by each of them to see if you like them or not, you can just look on youtube for the song and listen to it there. wolfmother-joker and the theif, the white stripes-you already know, the strokes-reptilia. hope i helped.

velvet revolver….very cool rock band. maybe the last rock band.

wet coma – up and coming rock band (my buddy’s band). def. worth checking out if you like rock

Interpol… an NYC band; The Black Keys… a newer, hipper version of The John Spencer Blues Explosion of the 90s; Wolf Parade (may be too on the fringe of what you are looking for).

Jet, Cage The Elephant, i think those kinda fall into that genre
